Spok sport und kultur is located on Nordendstraße in Niederschönhausen, about a minute away from the Nordendstraße tram stop. The grounds are easily accessible without needing a car. The sports facility itself is significantly older than its current operation, with its history tracing back to Tennis Borussia Berlin and the Diplomatic Corps. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, spok has managed the site as a sports center, supported by a non-profit organization that also includes an educational center. Among other things, sports and fitness merchants are trained there.
For tennis, seven outdoor red clay courts and two indoor carpet courts are available and can be played on all year round. The red clay courts are the first choice during the warm season, and the two carpet courts take over as soon as the weather changes. No club membership is required here. Guests book online and pay 22 Euros for sixty minutes; those who come more often can get a spok-Card for 50 Euros a year and play at a lower rate. Short-term reservations are explicitly possible.
Children’s Tennis, Camps, and Other Sports at spok
Children’s tennis is aimed at six to seventeen-year-olds, takes place in groups of four, and is accompanied by regular match days. Both beginners and advanced players are welcome. During all Berlin school holidays, full-day tennis camps are held, including excursions into other sports, a final tournament, and an awards ceremony. For adults, there are individual and group lessons, ball machine training, senior tennis, and preparation tournaments. In addition, there are ribbon tournaments as well as private and corporate tennis events that can be hosted at the facility.
Around the courts, spok offers much more than tennis.
