The Tennis-Club SCC Berlin e.V. is located on Waldschulallee next to the Mommsenstadion, at the edge of the Grunewald forest. Fourteen clay courts, seven indoor courts, and around 1,600 members make it one of the largest tennis clubs in the city. Among Berlin's tennis courts, this is the most athletically ambitious address, with men's and women's teams playing in the 1st Bundesliga.
Tennis-Club SCC Berlin e.V.: Tennis Facility at the Edge of Grunewald
The facility of Tennis-Club SCC Berlin e.V. is located on Waldschulallee in Charlottenburg, directly next to the Mommsenstadion and at the edge of the Grunewald forest. The Messe Süd S-Bahn station is within walking distance, and there are around two hundred parking spaces in front of the facility, which is a rarity for an inner-city tennis club. The Sport-Club Charlottenburg was founded on September 15, 1902, the tennis department was established in 1910, and since 1921, the club has carried its own name. The current clubhouse was inaugurated on June 20, 1975.
Outside, fourteen clay courts are available, five of them with floodlights. For winter, three permanent indoor courts with hard-fiber velour carpet from 2017 and an air-supported structure over four freshly renovated clay courts are added. An indoor court hour costs members 29 Euros during peak times; non-members pay a surcharge and can also book the indoor courts. Bookings are made for single hours or as a subscription for the entire indoor season; for members, playing rights on the outdoor courts are included in the annual fee.
Bundesliga, Youth Work, and Club Life at Tennis-Club SCC Berlin
With around 1,600 members, Tennis-Club SCC Berlin is one of the largest clubs in the city. The annual fee for active full members is 590 Euros, and admission is currently via a waiting list. Men’s and women’s teams will play in the 1st Bundesliga in 2026, in addition to teams from U10 to U18 and from Men 30 to Men 75. Own tournaments like the SCC Open and the Zebra Cup are fixed in the calendar. The club was already German team champion in 2005, 2019, and 2022 with its senior teams.
Recreational sports are not neglected. The Active Club offers group training, introductory tennis, and a player exchange, plus kindergarten ball school, mini tennis for five to seven-year-olds, school tennis, and holiday camps for children and adults. In the club restaurant, with its sixteen-meter-long counter, people meet after the game, and since 2024, an athletic area of two hundred square meters complements the offerings. Its own online shop and a stringing service complete the package.
