Play Off Marzahn is Berlin's American Diner with true sports bar DNA: spare ribs, burgers, and cool drinks, while football plays on large screens. For World Cup evenings in East Berlin, this address on Märkische Allee is absolutely recommended.

Play Off Marzahn: American Diner and Sports Bar in One

For more than 20 years, the team has successfully operated the American Bowl and Play Off Marzahn Restaurant in East Berlin. Red and white striped leather seats, pin-up girls on the walls: Play Off welcomes its guests in the style of the American 50s. Hearty burgers, juicy spare ribs, crisp salads, and milkshakes land on the tables here. The monthly Spare Ribs Day is particularly popular: Play Off Marzahn has been known for its legendary Spare Ribs Day for more than 20 years, beyond district borders, always on Mondays from 18:00 with an all-you-can-eat BBQ buffet. Vegetarians also find a selection of burgers, salads, and more.

Play Off is located in the immediate vicinity of Marzahn S-Bahn station and the Eastgate shopping center. If you wish, you can chase strikes in the adjacent bowling alley or go to the UCI cinema before or after your meal. A stroll through Bürgerpark Marzahn is also worthwhile at any time of year, and the Gardens of the World are also very popular.

Why Play Off is a Must for Public Viewing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Play Off Marzahn is not just a pub that shows football casually. Guests can follow all important sporting events live on SKY and DAZN via multiple screens and large projection screens. This has made the location a fixed point for World Cup and European Championship games in Marzahn for years. Play Off includes a restaurant as well as a bowling alley and regularly shows sports even outside of major football tournaments, accordingly, there are several screens here: a large video wall and flat screens.

Even at past World Cups, Play Off Marzahn was well-filled. As the name suggests, mainly American food is served, and for football matches, beer is available in 1.5-liter pitchers upon request. It is one of the few locations in Berlin where you can enjoy public viewing with children, as smoking is not allowed, and fries and milkshakes are also a good option for kids. Therefore, a future table reservation is recommended for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A table can be conveniently booked for the desired day and time via the online reservation system.
