Pool, industrial charm, and open-air football: MAAYA on the RAW grounds in Friedrichshain is probably Berlin's most relaxed open-air location for public viewing of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

MAAYA on the RAW grounds: What’s behind the location?

Built from 2014 and opened in spring 2015, MAAYA on the RAW grounds in Friedrichshain quickly developed into one of the city’s best-known summer destinations. Directly on the RAW grounds, the industrial charm of old brick buildings was combined with a heated swimming pool, sundeck, lounges, and sunbeds. The result is a blend that is hardly found a second time in Berlin.

The 7,000 square meter area of MAAYA regularly invites you to relax, celebrate, and enjoy. The 240 square meter pool is intended more for seeing and being seen than for athletic ambitions. The menu features the finest drinks and cocktails, as well as the best BBQ in town.

After the game, a walk through the immediate surroundings is worthwhile. The Urban Spree gallery building invites you to browse a bookstore and visit exhibitions. In addition, the East Side Gallery, the longest and best-preserved section of the Berlin Wall, is just a few minutes away. If you want to see more of the RAW grounds: there are also bars, clubs, restaurants, food trucks, an open-air cinema, a bunker converted into a climbing wall, and an indoor skate park.

Why MAAYA is a great choice for Public Viewing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Those looking for public viewing in Berlin often immediately think of the fan mile at the Brandenburg Gate. However, MAAYA on the RAW grounds is a cool alternative. Because here you can find something that hardly any other place can offer: watching football with your feet in the water. Watching football in the pool, something different!

Already at the 2018 World Cup and the 2016 European Championship, the location established itself as a staple for public viewing in Berlin. A highlight is a 15 square meter screen that points directly to the pool. On Revaler Straße, you have the choice between a beer garden and a pool, grilled food or vegetarian dishes, and in bad weather, you can easily switch to two halls. All European Championship games are shown. This should also apply to the 2026 World Cup.

The capacity is also particularly strong. With its approximately 1,000 seats, MAAYA is one of the larger public viewing locations in Berlin. Therefore, individuals do not necessarily need to make a reservation. A reservation is only recommended for larger groups. The location also adapts its food and supporting program to major football events. If you are looking for public viewing with atmosphere and a pool feeling for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Berlin, MAAYA should be at the top of your list.
