On Kastanienallee in Prenzlauer Berg, at Hako Ramen, you slurp as it should be: gladly loud, deliciously hot, and the broth down to the last drop. The traditional Japanese noodle soup here is free of flavor enhancers and tastes particularly aromatic and intense.

Tantan, Miso, Vegan Tantan: Berlin’s tastiest broth

There’s plenty of ramen in Berlin. But at Hako Ramen Prenzlauer Berg, the foundation is right. The broth is prepared according to traditional recipes with fresh ingredients, entirely without flavor enhancers. Particularly popular variants include Tantan Chashu, Vegan Tantan, and Miso Ramen. Those who don’t eat meat will also get their money’s worth here. In addition to traditional meat-based ramen, there are also a number of vegan options, including Vegan Miso and Kinoko Ramen. For the Vegan Tantan, soy meat with fried tofu lands in the bowl, and sesame paste in the broth makes it pleasantly creamy. Before the ramen, it’s also worth taking a look at the appetizers. Gyozas and Onigiri complete the Japanese offering. There’s also a selection of rice bowls and Japanese beers like Asahi and Sapporo. Everything is fresh, everything is visible, because the dishes are prepared in an open kitchen directly in front of the guests’ eyes.

On Kastanienallee since 2019

Hako Ramen has been in Prenzlauer Berg since June 2019. Its location on Kastanienallee, between Mauerpark and Kulturbrauerei, is no coincidence. The neighborhood attracts people who know what they want. Therefore, Hako fits in well here. If you’re looking for more Japanese food in the area, you’ll also find Buya Ramen Factory or Dump Ling nearby. Hako now operates a total of four restaurants in Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte, and Potsdam.
