Yarok: Damascus Meets Torstraße

The name means “green” in Hebrew and stands for solidarity among all peoples. Here you’ll find authentic Syrian cuisine from Damascus, lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients. The concept is as simple as it is convincing: there’s no table service; orders are placed at the counter. In return, the food arrives quickly, fresh, and at prices that make you look twice.

The mixed platters are particularly popular, generously filled with a cross-section of Syrian cuisine, from hummus and falafel to grilled dishes. If two people come, they can share a platter and still go home satisfied. In addition to beef, lamb, and chicken, there is also a wide selection of vegetarian specialties. Traditional Syrian mate tea or coffee with cardamom harmoniously round off the offering.

Atmosphere and Practicalities

The oriental restaurant also scores with its atmosphere. The interior is colorful, and the ceiling lights are a real eye-catcher. In the evenings, Yarok fills up quickly. Those who arrive after 18:00 should expect a short wait outside, as indoor seating is limited. Also, note: Payment is cash or EC card, and it’s open daily from 14:00. If you don’t want to eat on-site, you can also pick up. There is no delivery service; take-away orders can be picked up directly at Torstraße 195.
