For almost 100 years, ice cream scoops have been passionately served in Spandau: The Florida Eis green Café the ocean on Klosterstraße combines artisanal ice cream culture with consistent sustainability. Classics like Spaghetti-Eis and Banana Split are offered alongside creative flavors, all produced CO₂-neutrally.

Florida Eis green Café the ocean: Spandau’s Sweetest Institution

At Klosterstraße 15, ice cream scoops were already being made with one of the first drum ice cream machines as early as 1927. Much has happened since then. The café has existed since 1927, and owner Olaf Höhn took it over in 1984. The small ice cream parlor became a Spandau landmark. The assortment includes around 50 flavors from more than 120 recipes, from classic vanilla and strawberry to popcorn caramel, tiramisu crunch, or pecan nut with caramelized US cake-style pieces. In addition, there are vegan sorbets and oat milk creations as well as lactose-free options. This Berlin ice cream parlor caters to everyone: It is considered THE ice cream café in Spandau, especially popular with families with children and seniors. Despite slightly higher prices in comparison, visitors find the portions generous and the price justified, and the team is considered friendly and efficient even in stressful moments.

Green Conscience, Creamy Result

What truly sets this ice cream parlor in Berlin apart is the consistent ethos behind the indulgence. Sustainability at Florida Eis is not just a sticker on the packaging: Production is CO₂-neutral, using solar power from its own roof and heat recovery from the refrigeration machine. In 2015, Florida Eis received the “German Climate Protection Company” award from the Ministry of Environment. The same principle extends to the café itself: Plastic has been consistently replaced in the ice cream parlor, and sustainable paper cups and wooden spoons have long been adopted. Latte Macchiato and iced chocolate are classics, and without a waffle or a crêpe, along with suitable chocolate sauces and rum pot cherries, the ice cream parlor simply wouldn’t be complete. You can find Florida Eis green Café the ocean at Klosterstraße 15, 13581 Berlin. In summer, from March 1st to October 31st, it is open daily from 12:00 to 21:00.
