“Cuore Di Vetro” means “Heart of Glass” and is reminiscent of the movie of the same name by German director Werner Herzog. This kind of plots the course, because the Cuore Di Vetro wants to be more than a normal ice cream shop. The owners as artistically-inclined folks from Berlin-Mitte also host vernissages, exhibitions, author’s readings and concerts.

Next to the delights of the arts, they also offer culinary discoveries. Seemingly on the side, the gelateria offers mouth-watering ice cream, made following Italian recipes in the shop itself. You could say that the production room is the “heart of glass” of the store, because the customers can see the huge ice cream machine through a window and see how their ice cream is being made.
