The small restaurant Blaue Tische (Blue Tables) in the Friedelstraße in Neukölln is a restaurant different from the well-known Greek restaurants in town. This you will know when entering the small restaurant. The restaurant lives up to its name, with small blue bistro tables and checkered tablecloths. As a contrast, the walls are kept in orange. Black and white photographs, a mosaic and shelves of wine bottles decorate the place. Many of the visitors are regular guests and appreciate the fresh ingredients used for preparing the food. But also new guests feel attracted by the coziness and the charm of the small restaurant.

If you want the typical large Greek gyros or souvlaki portions, you are wrong here: The food offered does not correspond to the well-known Greek grill kitchen, but is rather part of the Greek meze (appetizer) kitchen, consisting of cold and warm snacks. As appetizers there are beetroot, dips and olives (cold) or stuffed grape leaves, giant beans and baked sheep’s cheese (warm). The main dishes are redfish, vegetables and sheep’s cheese on the oven and pan, and Pastitzio, a Greek macaroni mince casserole. Greek yoghurt or chocolate cakes with mint follow for dessert. In addition to vegetarian food, vegan food can also be ordered here.

In the restaurant, great emphasis is placed on ingredients from organic farming. Only organic meat is used and also the Greek wines are organic.
