Marthas Delicious Burgers is located on Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg and is run as a family business. The menu features hardly any burger that consists only of meat, cheese, and sauce. The French Burger combines brie with cranberry chutney, the Demogorgon features gorgonzola, caramelized onions, and a fig-mustard sauce, and the Hellboy brings together caramelized pineapple with jalapeños and chipotle mayo. Marthas favorite burger includes guacamole, a fried egg, and wasabi mayo, while the BBQ Burger has teriyaki braised onions and bacon. Getting started is still straightforward, as the beef patty weighs 125 grams, the cheeseburger costs 10.10 Euros, and a portion of fries is 4.90 Euros. Those who don’t eat meat get more than just a single alternative here, as three burgers come with a mushroom patty, plus there’s a vegetarian Halloumi burger with mango chutney. The sauce menu is also noteworthy, as aioli, truffle mayo, chipotle mayo, wasabi mayo, and guacamole can be ordered separately or as a combination to try out.

Small Burger Joint on Mehringdamm with Open Kitchen

The shop is located on one of the city’s most famous fast-food corners, between the Mehringdamm and Yorckstraße subway stations, where queues regularly form at Curry 36 and Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap. Marthas Delicious Burgers stands its ground without much fanfare. The establishment is small, has few tables, and an open kitchen where the patties are prepared in front of the guests, plus a large display window with a view of Mehringdamm. There are no outdoor seats, and because the space is manageable, it fills up quickly on busy evenings. Takeaway is therefore a serious option, and payment is accepted in cash or by card. Instead of industrial pilsner, they serve beer from the Berlin brewery BRLO and lemonade in returnable bottles. However, access to the establishment is only partially barrier-free. Those arriving by public transport will be at the door after about a two-minute walk from the Mehringdamm subway station, as parking spaces in this area are managed and scarce.
