Vagabund Brauerei Kesselhaus

In the boiler house of the former Bergmann-Electricitäts-Werke, Germany's first light bulb factory, Vagabund has been brewing Helles, Pils, Pale Ale, and IPA since 2021 across 1,600 square meters. The tanks hold 4,500 liters per batch. A two-hour tour with six beers costs 22 Euros, plus there's bar food and a beer garden in the Osram Höfe.

Vagabund Brewery Kesselhaus: Brewhouse in the old Light Bulb Factory

The boiler house of the former Bergmann-Electricitäts-Werke was part of Germany’s first light bulb factory and then stood empty for a good twenty years. In 2021, Vagabund converted the building in the Osram Höfe into a brewery; the brand itself has existed in Wedding since 2011. Today, the brewhouse, bar, restaurant, event room, and beer garden are spread across approximately 1,600 square meters. The stainless steel tanks hold 4,500 liters per batch, and the motto is ‘Freedom Commandment’ instead of ‘Purity Law’. In 2024, a new company took over operations, followed by a new design in 2025.

Helles, Pils, and IPA plus Tour with Tasting

The core range includes a Helles, a Pils, a Pale Ale, and an IPA, as well as an alcohol-free Helles. In addition, the house produces Cidre Flâneur and an alcohol-, sugar-, and gluten-free hop water. The kitchen deliberately sticks to bar food: chicken wings for 8.50 Euros, spare ribs for 10 Euros, potato tots for 6.50 Euros, and vegan nuggets for 7 Euros. A two-hour brewery tour with tasting costs 22 Euros per person and is offered in German and English, including one beer during the tour and five more for tasting. There are no parking spaces on site.
