Ottenthal Restaurant & Weinhandlung

Since 1994, Ottenthal Restaurant & Wine Shop in Charlottenburg has been the most reliable address for Austrian cuisine in Berlin. On Kantstraße, classic Alpine cuisine and over 300 Austrian wines combine for an evening that tastes like Vienna but belongs in Berlin.
Ottenthal Restaurant & Wine Shop: Wiener Schnitzel and more since 1994
Since 1994, Ottenthal has been located at Kantstraße 153 in Charlottenburg and has established itself as one of Berlin’s most enduring Austrian addresses. The name refers to Ottenthal, a town 60 km west of Vienna and the hometown of owner Arthur Schneller. This is evident in the cuisine: Ottenthal offers classic Austrian dishes, some newly interpreted, with clear, fresh, and natural cooking, as well as selected seasonal ingredients and organic products.
What distinguishes the cuisine from other Austrian restaurants in Berlin is the “Manufaktur” (craft/manufactory) concept. Understood as a manufactory, all dishes, from vanilla crescents, cakes, and noodles to strudels, are produced in their own kitchen. This ensures that what lands on the table tastes like true craftsmanship. In addition, Tafelspitz (boiled beef) and veal are on the menu, as are Sachertorte and Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake).
Around 300 Austrian wines directly in the restaurant
Ottenthal is not just a restaurant, but also a wine shop. The wine shop is integrated directly into the restaurant and offers around 300 different Austrian wines to choose from. This makes the selection more than serious for wine connoisseurs. The staff is passionate and provides well-founded recommendations that complete the evening.
The restaurant is well-frequented, so a table reservation is recommended. From Monday to Saturday, Ottenthal is open for lunch from 12 PM and for dinner from 4 PM; it remains closed on Sundays.
