At Olivaer Platz in Charlottenburg, Berg & Tal serves Austrian classics with a modern touch. Chef Patrick Zoch brings Wiener Schnitzel, Goulash, and Kaiserschmarrn to the table in a warm, Alpine-inspired setting.

Austrian Cuisine in Berlin: Berg & Tal at Olivaer Platz

Chef Patrick Zoch has fulfilled his dream of owning his own restaurant with Berg & Tal, where he serves Austrian classics with a contemporary spirit. His co-founder Jeldos Stecker contributes his flair for design and his Allgäu roots to this Alpine culinary destination. The result is a restaurant in Charlottenburg that feels as if you’re never far from the mountains.

In spring 2024, Zoch and Stecker opened the restaurant, where they serve the most exciting culinary delights from Austrian, Alpine, and Southern German cuisine. The address at Bregenzer Straße 9 in 10707 Berlin is within walking distance of the lively Olivaer Platz.

Wiener Schnitzel, Goulash and More: The Menu

According to Chef Zoch, the classics are the crowd-pleasers on the menu: Wiener Schnitzel, Goulash, and Kaiserschmarrn. However, lighter lunch options are also available. The lunch menu offers affordable dishes such as Rösti with sour cream and salmon, Käsespätzle, or Schupfnudeln in the price range of 12 to 13 Euros. Furthermore, the selection is diverse: vegetarians* and vegans* will also find plenty of choices on the menu.

The carefully curated wine list complements the food. The wines are personal favorites of the two founders, who know many winemakers* and producers* personally and constantly build new contacts. In good weather, it’s also lovely to sit outside on comfortable furniture in the quiet street. Berg & Tal is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 12 PM and Sundays from 3 PM, remaining closed on Mondays.
