Weinladen Schmidt on Heinsestraße is the Hermsdorf branch of a Berlin wine merchant that has been family-owned since 1964. The assortment includes around 415 wines, with the Palatinate region being the most represented. Once a month, there's a neighborhood tasting starting from 44 Euros, and for wine gifts, chocolates and pralines from Erich Hamann and Sawade are available.

Edeltraud and Dietmar Schmidt founded Weinladen Schmidt in Neukölln in 1964. Today, their son Carsten Schmidt leads the family business, which operates six branches in Berlin: in Charlottenburg, Hermsdorf, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, Schlachtensee, and Westend. In 2016, it was honored as the Berlin Family Business of the Year.

The branch at Heinsestraße 30 offers around 415 wines, with the Palatinate region being the most represented. In addition, there are over 20 champagnes and wines from Europe, almost all directly from the winery. A special highlight is the Souvignier Gris from Patke from Brandenburg for 12.95 Euros. For gifts, the Hermsdorf store offers chocolates from Berlin manufacturers Erich Hamann and Sawade, as well as tea, gin, and whisky.

Neighborhood Tasting, Bonus System, and Delivery

Once a month, a neighborhood tasting takes place in Hermsdorf, costing 44 to 54 Euros per person, depending on the theme. Regular customers collect a two to ten percent discount through a bonus system. In Berlin, a dedicated driver delivers for free for orders over 125 Euros. It is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and Saturday from 09:00 to 16:00.
