Humboldthain Club: Wedding dances outdoors

The Humboldthain Club, located on Hochstraße in the Gesundbrunnen district, opened in 2013. Since then, it has been a fixture in Berlin’s open-air scene. It is operated by artists with roots in Kunsthaus Tacheles, and this still shapes the venue today: The garden with its beach-bar character is the heart of the club in summer, with table tennis tables outside and the dance floor inside.

Inside, there are two floors featuring techno, house, and related genres. The crowd comes from the neighborhood and from all over the city, and the door policy is considered relaxed. Prices for an evening range from approximately 10 to 20 Euros per person.

Vinyl, table tennis, and young collectives

A weekly format that combines turntables and table tennis is a permanent part of the program. The vinyl-only principle ensures a seriousness rarely expected on a weekday, while also making the evening an open meeting point.

The club sees itself as a platform for young collectives and up-and-coming promoters, resulting in a diverse program. The atmosphere deliberately avoids pomp, focusing instead on a safe environment for all guests. The bar offers cocktails, local beers, and long drinks, with cash payment only. Arrival is via S-Bahn and U-Bahn Gesundbrunnen, from where it’s just a few minutes’ walk.
