Birgit

Kreuzberg, right by the lock to the Landwehrkanal: Birgit is a beer garden, open-air club, and fairground all in one. Relaxed during the day, at night dancing under the open sky until morning.
Birgit: beer garden and club grounds at Schleusenufer
At Schleusenufer 3 in Kreuzberg, directly by the lock to the Landwehrkanal, lies a venue that is difficult to categorize. The mix of beer garden, old fairground, and club area has grown over the years. For a long time, it operated as Birgit und Bier, today it is simply known as Birgit. Instead of long wooden benches, discarded vintage sofas and armchairs stand in the garden.
In the evenings, the area transforms into a club with several dance floors, interspersed with bumper cars, a carousel, foosball, and a bowling alley. The garden opens in the afternoon, with Neapolitan pizza from the wood-fired oven and unpasteurized draft beer from the kitchen.
Sunday Open-Airs and Long Nights
The elaborately decorated outdoor area is the core of the whole. On warm summer evenings, dancing continues there until the early morning hours; regularly, the venue closes around 3 AM. The Sunday open-airs have become a fixed date for many in the city.
A look inside is also worthwhile: street art, fairy lights, and raw industrial charm characterize the rooms. A visit costs approximately 10 to 20 Euros per person; the subway stops at Schlesisches Tor.
