Flughafen Tempelhof-Führung

If you don't want to waste away alone in front of the TV as a single, and also want to learn something about exciting places in Berlin with other people, you should get off the couch and join the weekend tours of the former Tempelhof Airport!
An exciting weekend activity (not just for singles) is an expert guided tour of the grounds of the former Tempelhof Airport, incidentally, Europe’s largest architectural monument. The tours deal, for example, with the “Myth of Tempelhof”, as the name of the tour suggests, or with “Hidden Places”. Participants learn a lot about the history of the airport.
The listed building of Tempelhof Airport reflects Berlin’s eventful history: it is an expression of National Socialist ideology and was used for arms production by forced laborers during the Second World War.
But Tempelhof is also a symbol of freedom; the 1948/49 Berlin Airlift made the airport world-famous and a myth. During the division of Germany, it remained for many people the gateway to the free world.
Numerous legends surround the history and architecture of the famous Tempelhof Airport. On the new tour, you will find out what is true and what belongs to the realm of fantasy: How many underground floors does the airport building have? Are there actually kilometers of tunnels leading to downtown Berlin? Is even the airfield underground? Why are there so many legends about Tempelhof?
During the approximately 2-hour tours, visitors are guided to the most interesting parts of the huge building, covering an area of 300,000 square meters.
Group tours and tours in English are also offered.
