At Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin Mitte, Marco Gianni has given his GLASWEISE wine bar a new address - refining the atmosphere without losing its warmth. Italian wine culture, carefully selected wines, and a service for which hospitality is a genuine concern.
GLASWEISE – Wine Bar with Conviction at Gendarmenmarkt
Marco Gianni actually always wanted to be in Mitte. For this, he initially took a detour via Kreuzberg, where he opened GLASWEISE in Skalitzer Straße in 2021. Meanwhile, the wine bar has moved to Gendarmenmarkt. The atmosphere is sophisticated, the enthusiasm contagious. Anyone who enters immediately realizes: This is not a concept, this is conviction.
Dark wood, even darker walls, a long bar, and many small private corners ensure that one quickly feels comfortable. As a native Italian, Gianni focuses more on Italian wines at the new address. What Marco himself states holds true: „People should come back for two things: the wines and the service. Wine is my passion.” You can feel that.
Wine, Oysters, and a Convincing Negroni Selection
GLASWEISE offers a carefully curated selection of open wines as well as a more extensive bottle list that invites sharing, discovery, and enjoyment. It’s a wine bar everyone can agree on: status drinkers, discovery seekers, the aperitif crowd – there are even oysters. In addition, delicious finger foods such as cheese platters with prosciutto and fresh bread are available.
Those who don’t drink wine will also find their anchor: The GLASWEISE Negroni Selection is something of the house’s signature – served in several variations, each in the classic spirit but with its own personality. Those who come on Tuesdays will also encounter the popular Oyster-Champagne event. On Friday evenings and Saturdays, DJs play, so a wine evening can sometimes turn into a longer night. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 6 PM to 1 AM.
