Karl-August-Platz was established as a market and church square in 1894 and named after the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. This makes the Karl-August-Platz weekly market one of the oldest weekly markets in the district, offering a wide range of products presented with genuine passion for over 125 years. Against this backdrop, right next to the Neo-Gothic Trinitatis Church, a market scene unfolds twice a week that goes far beyond the usual offerings. On Wednesdays, the market is open from 08:00 to 13:00, and on Saturdays until 14:00. The market features a colorful mix of organic fruits and vegetables, Neuland meat, and a wide selection of flowers around the Trinitatis Church.
