Wannseeterrassen: Legend on the Great Wannsee

Since the 1930s of the last century, the Wannseeterrassen have been among Berlin’s legendary excursion destinations. After a fire, fans of the restaurant had to wait fourteen years for its return before the Wannseeterrassen reopened with a renewed concept and a new building. The architecture is based on the original plans of the historic predecessor building that stood on the same plot. The result is a place that convincingly brings together tradition and fresh self-confidence. With its high windows and light-filled spatial feel, the interior is reminiscent of a country house in the Hamptons.

Wannseeterrassen: Excursion Gastronomy by the Water on 8,500 Square Meters

With a beer garden, restaurant, bar, café, and patisserie, the Wannseeterrassen offer a total of 850 seats. 500 of these are on the terrace with views of the Wannsee and the Havel. This allows guests to shape their day as they please: coffee specialties, homemade cakes and tarts, and ice cream made on-site complete the trip to the countryside. The kitchen combines German and French culinary traditions with seasonal and regional products. Specifically, this means dishes like beef tartare “Paris-Berlin”, scallops, or tarte flambée from the snack bar on the premises. A spacious children’s playground of 650 square meters, visible from the terrace, ensures that even the youngest guests are well entertained. The offerings thus range from a coffee house to a restaurant to a classic beer garden. Open daily from 12 PM until late in the evening.
