Hidden behind an old Berlin courtyard facade in Heckmann Höfe in Mitte, the Israeli-Mediterranean Night Kitchen serves sharing plates with a Tel Aviv soul. Those who embrace the "Dinner with Friends" concept will experience an evening that feels like a dinner at friends' houses - except that the kitchen here truly knows what it's doing.
Israeli Restaurant in Mitte: Night Kitchen in the Heckmann Höfe
Those familiar with Oranienburger Straße know that Berlin often surprises behind its archways. The same goes for here: The Israeli-Mediterranean restaurant is located in a beautiful old stable building within the hidden Heckmann Höfe in Mitte. With roots in Tel Aviv’s vibrant culinary scene, Night Kitchen has captured Berlin’s hearts with its colorful, flavorful cuisine and its special location in a picturesque courtyard. The interior provides the perfect setting for an evening: a wonderfully rustic bar with a long wooden counter, stone tiles, patterned wallpaper, tables with bar stools, subdued lighting, and copper pots as decor. The main dining room has a sensual atmosphere and features a wrap-around bar and an open kitchen. Those who prefer to sit outside can choose the greenhouse area or the summer garden.
Sharing Plates and “Dinner with Friends”: The Concept Makes the Difference
When it comes to Israeli food in Berlin, there’s hardly any way around Night Kitchen – especially because of its concept. Although the restaurant offers an impressive à la carte menu of modern Mediterranean dishes with Israeli influences, it’s the “Dinner with Friends” experience that you simply must try. This personalized menu for the entire table can be ordered for two to twelve people. Intolerances, preferred flavors, and vegan requests are discussed – the kitchen team takes care of the rest. The menu includes dishes such as Matbucha Burrata, Tuna Ceviche, and Levantine Shrimps, as well as Arayes, roasted carrots, and a Bread Pudding. For groups of seven or more, only the “Dinner with Friends” menu is available, starting from 52 Euros per person. So, if you plan to visit: A reservation is highly recommended, as the restaurant is very popular and usually fully booked.
