Besides excellent food, VOLT is also known for its special ambiance in a former substation.
The VOLT restaurant is located in the former Kreuzberg substation, built in 1928, directly on the Landwehr Canal, enchanting visitors with its flair. Candlelight and dimmed light from golden globe lamps create the perfect backdrop for a refined culinary evening.
The restaurant opened its doors in October 2010, and already in 2011, head chef Matthias Gleiß was named “Newcomer of the Year” among Berlin’s master chefs. Meanwhile, VOLT has established itself as an address for upscale dining. The culinary concept combines contemporary variations of traditional Berlin dishes and classic German comfort food. Seasonal ingredients from the region are consciously used, and vegetarians will also find plenty to enjoy. VOLT stands for contemporary cuisine with high gastronomic value, awarded by Gault Millau for its creativity and quality.
