One of Berlin's crispiest Christmas geese is served at Jolesch in Berlin Kreuzberg.
Chef Tobias Janzen of Jolesch in Kreuzberg is known for his delightfully created menus. This also applies to the Advent and Christmas season 2018. The Christmas menu is available as a 3-, 4- or 5-course menu as well as a vegetarian option, and just reading through it makes your mouth water.
The Christmas menu starts with a duck liver parfait, followed by a chestnut foam soup. Afterwards, the confit Fjord trout with parsley root, radishes and dashi will impress. As a main course, the traditional Christmas goose is served. Here you get goose breast and leg with red cabbage, kale, potato dumpling and baked apple. To finish, you have the choice between braised pear with candied walnuts, cocoa and Earl Grey or apple strudel with vanilla sabayon.
For the vegetarian version of the Christmas menu at Jolesch, alternatives on the menu include red beet and Brussels sprouts or lettuce, an essence of onions and celery with runner beans, grapefruit and tarragon. The Christmas menus at Jolesch will be served from December 1st to December 23rd.
The Austrian cuisine at Jolesch is complemented by an enormously large selection of wines from its associated wine shop. With almost 400 Austrian wines, Jolesch offers the most extensive list outside of Austria. For its achievements in Austrian cuisine, Jolesch was awarded 13 points in Gault Millau 2015.
