Coffee Roastery

One of Germany's last private coffee roasteries is located in Charlottenburg, specifically on Uhlandstraße. Since 2001, they have been roasting beans from all over the world, operating an attached café, and understanding coffee culture as a craft with a philosophy.

In Berlin's Wedding district, Flying Roasters roast organic coffee sourced directly from fair cooperatives worldwide. No middlemen, no greenwashing: here, artisanal quality stands equally alongside genuine social responsibility.

Since 1994, Cynthia Barcomi and her team have been roasting their own Arabica beans and baking everything themselves in Kreuzberg's Bergmannkiez. With this, the American baking icon has not only created an institution on Bergmannstraße but has also shaped Berlin's coffee culture.

On Florastraße in Pankow, they roast their own specialty coffee in a communal roastery in Wedding and serve it directly in their own neighborhood café. Blaffke Rösterei stands for artisanal roasting culture without frills, with directly traded beans and homemade cake.

In Berlin-Mitte, on Ackerstrasse not far from Rosenthaler Platz, Yvonne and Ivo Weller have been hand-roasting specialty coffees for over a decade. Röststätte Berlin stands for specialty coffee, its own Barista Academy, and Berlin's largest coffee accessory store, all under one roof.

Since 2003, Impala Coffee in Prenzlauer Berg has been passionate about its own roasts, which are known far beyond the neighborhood. The house brand African Queen stands for strong, characterful coffee that has attracted loyal regulars for over two decades. The roastery now operates four locations in Berlin.

Since 2002, 19grams Coffee has been one of the pioneers of Specialty Coffee in Germany. What started in Friedrichshain is now a Berlin institution with four cafés and a roastery directly at Alexanderplatz in Mitte, where fair-trade Arabica from all over the world is freshly roasted weekly.

Bonanza Coffee Heroes on Oderberger Straße has been a pioneer of Berlin's specialty coffee scene since 2006. Here, coffee is roasted in-house, precisely brewed, and true respect is paid to the Arabica bean with 14 grams per cup.

In Kreuzberg, Five Elephant embodies what Berlin's specialty coffee stands for: directly traded beans, artisanal roasting, and a cheesecake almost as famous as the coffee itself. Since 2010, the roastery has shaped the Berlin coffee scene with a consistency you can literally smell in the backyard on Glogauer Straße.

Since 2012, Tischendorf in Neukölln has been serving breakfast on Friedelstraße in the heart of Kreuzkölln. This Australian-influenced cafe combines homemade quality with local coffee and a menu ranging from porridge to poached eggs.

In Adalbertstraße in Kreuzberg, KaffeeKirsche serves fresh specialty coffee daily, roasted in its own drum roastery in Tempelhof. The roastery combines artisanal roasting with genuine origin stories and is represented at several locations in Berlin.

The Barn in Berlin stands for specialty coffee of the highest quality: The roastery from Mitte, founded in 2010 in the Scheunenviertel, has been named Roaster of the Year 2025 by Crema Magazin and now operates eleven cafés in the city as well as other locations worldwide.

Especially during the colder months, the demand for sweets increases - the Berliner Kaffeerösterei sweetens gloomy Berlin weather with exquisite tastings. Whether it's an espresso machine course, milk foam cappuccino training, or coffee cupping with the master roaster: the aroma of roasted beans and the homemade cakes warm the senses in the cold.

The Berlin coffee roastery in Uhlandstraße actually stands for coffee house charm, good cakes, especially good chocolate and excellent coffee. In summer they offer very tasty frozen yoghurt.

In Kreuzberg the Kiez Rösterei offers many delicious and high quality coffee variations.

The stylish coffee roastery The Visit is located on a backyard of Adalbertstraße, not far from the popular Oranienstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
