It all began in 2010 in the Scheunenviertel in Mitte, where founder Ralf Rüller pursued a clear mission: specialty coffee without compromise. The roastery focuses exclusively on single-origin coffees, with each bean possessing an individual flavor profile and reflecting the unique characteristics of its respective farm. Furthermore, The Barn consistently avoids blends to preserve the authentic taste of each bean.

The roastery exclusively sources coffees that score at least 86 points on the SCA scale. The awards prove that this standard is well-received: The Barn was honored by Crema Magazin with the coveted title „Roaster of the Year 2025“. In addition, the meticulous sourcing of specialty coffee beans, sustainable practices, and the focus on a first-class customer experience were particularly highlighted by the jury.

All locations look different but are each inspired by the architecture or history of the respective building and are intended to function as neighborhood hubs.
