The Square Berlin East is located at Französische Straße 40, a few steps from Gendarmenmarkt, and thus in the quietest corner of Friedrichstadt. The Hausvogteiplatz subway station is about two hundred seventy meters away, the Französische Straße bus stop is even closer, and those arriving by car pay three to four euros per hour in parking zone 2, with a maximum parking duration of four hours around Gendarmenmarkt. Behind the facade are approximately seven hundred square meters, furnished by the Parisian studio Pierre Augustin Rose. The establishment opened in autumn 2022, emerging from The Corner concept store, which Emmanuel de Bayser and Josef Voelk had opened in 2008 at the same address. The addition “East” distinguishes this location from its planned sister in the west of the city. Fashion stands here alongside books, cosmetics, candles, furniture, and art, making a visit more like a tour than a shopping trip.
