The Designer Outlet Berlin in Elstal brings together over 100 brands across 21,200 square meters, from Boss to Levi's to Birkenstock, and is 30 to 70 percent below the manufacturers' recommended retail price year-round. Around 3,000 parking spaces are free, and a free shuttle bus runs from Kurfürstendamm on weekends.

The Supermarché in Wiener Straße carries around 50 labels with fair-trade criteria or organic certification, plus its own hand-printed label Hirschkind. Old wool and cashmere are accepted for further processing, clearly sorted on 100 square meters.

If you want to know where your clothes come from, Marienburger Straße 39 in Prenzlauer Berg is a must-visit. Schuhatelier Birgit Oder stands for "Made in Berlin" and for special, handmade shoes for very individual demands.

Mall of Berlin is the shopping center located in the heart of the government district at Leipziger Platz, built on the former site of the Wertheim department store. Mykita has made its glasses by hand in Berlin since 2003 and now works in a listed brick building on the Spree in Kreuzberg. What sets the brand apart is a patented hinge that needs neither screws nor soldered joints. The name comes from the Kita, the German word for a day nursery, because the rooms of one held the very first workshop of the brand.

On Schloßstraße in Steglitz, around 800 square meters of retail space spread across two floors, exclusively menswear in regular sizes 56 to 70, long sizes 110 to 126 and international 2XL to 8XL. Added to that are custom tailoring under a master tailor, an in-house alteration service, Click and Collect and style consultation by appointment.

In the Graefekiez, hats for women, men and children hang on red walls and in colourful shelf cubes. Customers are advised by face shape, and the search continues until the headwear truly fits.

In Kreuzberg, Sommergold shows that office wear and material awareness go hand in hand. The Berlin label works with BEST and GOTS-certified natural fabrics, predominantly sews in its own studio, and designs models that are not season-bound.

At Pick n Weight in Mitte, you pay not per piece, but per kilo: Each item has a color marking, and weighing is done on scales in the shop. The assortment ranges from costumes from the fifties to seventies blouses and nineties sportswear.

Bikini Berlin is Germany's first Concept Mall, located in the listed Bikinihaus from 1957, directly next to the Zoological Garden. Instead of large chains, there are around 60 independent boutiques and twenty pop-up boxes that change every few months. Additionally, there's a panoramic window overlooking the zoo enclosure and a public rooftop terrace spanning 7,700 square meters.

SOEUR on Marienburger Straße offers used women's fashion from labels like Acne, Marc Jacobs, or Chloé, plus jewelry and individual home furnishings. A good part of the stock comes directly from customers who bring in their own items.

In the Hackesche Hoefe sits the flagship store of a German bag brand that has been run as a family business since 2002. The leather comes from LWG certified tanneries, and on more than ninety percent of the models the lining is made from recycled PET. There is also a vegan line made from post industrial material instead of leather.

Susen Hothmer has been running her boutique in Charlottenburg herself since 2011, covering ready-to-wear sizes from 46 to 100, which is larger than any other store on this list. It offers women's and men's fashion, new items, second-hand, and consignment goods, as well as its own collection for women with lipedema and lymphedema.

In a quietly located rear building in Berlin-Mitte, The Session's international team welcomes actors, models, and well-known personalities who trust the colorists and session stylists for international productions. However, the expertise from film sets and Fashion Week is not only reserved for celebrities: Here, individual hair colorations, cuts, and styles are created for everyone who has the highest standards for their hair.

ALEXA Berlin is located directly at Alexanderplatz and is immediately recognizable by its red, almost windowless Art Deco-style facade. Behind it, around 180 stores are spread across five floors and 56,000 square meters of rental space, plus a food court with seventeen establishments. A bowling alley, escape room, and Ampelmann shop are also part of the building.

Approximately seven hundred square meters of occasion wear at Spittelmarkt: crusz Berlin offers evening, ball, and cocktail dresses in sizes 28 to 50, including Sherri Hill, Rosa Clará Evening, and Tarik Ediz. Ball gowns start at around 400 Euros, long Sherri Hill models range from 799 to 1,999 Euros. Evening wear can be tried on without an appointment.

At Studio Wandel in Invalidenstraße, image consultant and make-up artist Cornelia Wandel advises on color type, cut, and make-up. Color and style consultations each last about one and a half hours, and a dedicated photo make-up is tailored for shootings. For job applications, this means that the appearance in the interview is prepared just as carefully as the documents.

Between Savignyplatz and Kantstraße stands Germany's first curvy concept store: fashion mainly in sizes 44 to 52, plus bags, jewelry, shoes and home accessories. Kaffe Curve, Only Carmakoma, Zizzi, Levi's and Marina Rinaldi are lined up alongside the shop's own fairly produced label and a curated vintage corner on two floors.

Gormannstraße 19a in the Scheunenviertel is Carolina and Aron's second store and the more design-focused of the two. The assortment comes almost entirely from Italy; cashmere, silk, wool, and leather define the selection, while synthetic fabrics are consistently sorted out. Among vintage stores in Berlin, this is the go-to address for Italian goods with provenance.
