Glitter and glamour are not just a December thing in Berlin. Whether it is the Berlinale, Fashion Week, a prom or a wedding, the big entrance needs the right outfit, and the city offers far more than one price bracket. At Prestije Mode Berlin on Kottbusser Damm in Kreuzberg, occasion wear spreads across four floors, from maxi dresses at 159 euros to suits, with alterations handled by the in-house tailor. Veronica Pohle has run her boutique on Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg since 1995 and stocks pieces by around ninety-five designers, from Talbot Runhof to Marchesa Notte. And in the fourth courtyard of the Hackesche Höfe in Mitte, the pleated dresses at ARREY BERLIN can either be bought or rented for three days. Add to that shops carrying sizes 32 to 60 and a dress rental starting at 59 euros. Which dress will it be for your next occasion?

For the big entrance, I gladly make an effort, and the right dress is simply part of it for me. I love fabrics that drape and cuts that flatter. From crusz BERLIN in Mitte to MATSOUR'I in Charlottenburg, I have visited the shops for you where I felt most beautiful.
Approximately seven hundred square meters of occasion wear at Spittelmarkt: crusz Berlin offers evening, ball, and cocktail dresses in sizes 28 to 50, including Sherri Hill, Rosa Clará Evening, and Tarik Ediz. Ball gowns start at around 400 Euros, long Sherri Hill models range from 799 to 1,999 Euros. Evening wear can be tried on without an appointment.
Designer evening wear by appointment in Wilmersdorf: Ilona Matsour designs and sews her dresses in Germany, in limited numbers and, if desired, made to measure, with customizable length, sleeve and neckline shapes. A cocktail dress costs around 1,050 Euros, a long evening dress 2,100 Euros, custom-made items start at about 950 Euros.

A simple dress costs 169 Euros, a more elaborate one around 239 Euros, sizes range from 30 to 46. An in-house tailor adapts the fit, no appointment is necessary.

Men's outfitter in Mitte with its own collection and no external brands: Herr von Eden produces tuxedos and suits in small editions of fifteen to thirty pieces. A midnight blue tuxedo suit costs 1,399 Euros, cummerbunds are 289 Euros. The Berlin boutique opens exclusively by prior appointment.

Maxi dresses start from 159 Euros, consultations are available in five languages, and no appointment is necessary. The store is located near the Schönleinstraße subway station.
Evening wear in Charlottenburg in sizes 32 to 60: LAFANTA covers significantly more than most boutiques in the city and customizes dresses in its own atelier. A prom dress with sequins costs around 360 Euros, an evening gown with glitter detailing around 500 Euros. An appointment can be booked in advance for fittings.
Women's fashion boutique in Prenzlauer Berg with its own formal wear section: Approximately forty-five dresses, skirts, and jumpsuits hang in the festive fashion area at Glamorous Berlin, primarily from FOX'S, Blaumax, and Catnoir. A sequin dress costs 149.95 Euros, a FOX'S dress costs 199.95 Euros. Schönhauser Allee station is approximately two hundred meters away.

Rental costs a flat rate of 250 Euros for three days including cleaning, while purchased models range from 450 to 1,800 Euros. Anyone who wants to keep a rented dress pays seventy percent of the sales price.
Dress rental in Charlottenburg since 2012: At Marry4Love, an evening, prom, or ball gown costs between 59 and 89 Euros for five days, including final cleaning. If you prefer a unique piece, you can have it custom-made, with prices starting at 450 Euros. Petite and curvy sizes are explicitly offered.
