COMME des COSTUMES

COMME des COSTUMES in Tempelhof is a costume rental, fashion archive, and professional costume house all in one, operated by a costume designer who also works in cinema.
COMME des COSTUMES: Berlin’s Most Remarkable Costume Collection
COMME des COSTUMES is a contemporary costume collection and fashion archive. Across 600 square meters, you’ll find around 30,000 pieces: designer dresses, basics, streetwear, workwear, current styles, vintage, and items patinated by life. It sounds like an archive, but it feels more like a journey of discovery through five decades of fashion history. Anyone who enters here quickly gets the feeling that every single piece carries a story.
In the Collectors Room, a styling-relevant collection of iconic designer pieces awaits, along with shoes, bags, glasses, headwear, accessories, and watches. COMME des COSTUMES offers a comprehensive selection for character design, from the 80s to today. This makes the house one of the few addresses in Berlin where costume designers and stylists can truly find everything the camera needs.
Behind the Costume House: Gabriele Binder
Owner Gabriele Binder herself works as a costume designer, including for The Queen’s Gambit, The Lives of Others, Desert Flower, and Never Look Away. For The Queen’s Gambit, she won the Costume Designers Guild Award for Excellence in Period Television. She therefore sees her collection not as a mere storage facility, but as a living tool for professional film work.
The costume collection is located on a light-filled loft floor in Berlin-Tempelhof, with courtyard parking spaces and rental offices for costume designers and stylists. This also makes COMME des COSTUMES a serious logistical option for productions. Anyone in Berlin looking for a professional-level costume collection that also functions as a fashion archive will find it at this address.
