The Columbiahalle on Columbiadamm is the largest rap stage in southern Berlin and is located opposite the former Tempelhof Airport. Recently, badmómzjay, Apsilon, Fatoni, and Ebow were on the schedule, with several evenings sold out. The format here is concerts, not weekly club nights, so the names are correspondingly big.
Columbiahalle: Rap Concerts in the Old Sports Hall
The Columbiahalle was built in 1951 as a sports hall for US soldiers stationed in Berlin and has served as a concert and event venue since the late nineties. It is located on Columbiadamm in the Tempelhof district, directly on the border with Kreuzberg and opposite the former Tempelhof Airport. Up to 3,500 guests can be accommodated here, spread across a hall that, despite its size, offers good views of the stage from all sides. Five bars, an outdoor area, and two terraces are also part of the venue.
German Rap and International Names
The current program features a long series of rap concerts. Recently, badmómzjay, Apsilon, Fatoni, Ebow, and British rapper EsDeeKid performed here, with several evenings sold out. In addition, pop, metal, reggae, and comedy events take place. The hall is thus not purely a hip-hop address, but the largest stage in the south of the city where rap regularly takes place. Advance concert tickets usually cost between 32.00 Euro and 78.00 Euro. The smaller Columbia Theater, with its own program, is located on the same premises.
