What has long been cult in Japan, Berliners love to celebrate too: publicly owning up to your own off-key notes. It's most fun with a bunch of friends at one of these places. Monster Ronson's Ichiban Karaoke at the Warschauer Brücke in Friedrichshain has long been an institution, with its own karaoke boxes and a big stage. The legendary Bearpit Karaoke in Mauerpark draws hundreds of spectators into the amphitheater on Sundays. And at the Knutschfleck near Alexanderplatz, the party gets going twice a week until the early morning hours. Whether a big stage or a cozy box, whether pro or shower singer: everyone is allowed at the microphone here. Ten places for the perfect karaoke evening. Which song would you strike up?

For this list I searched out the most fun karaoke spots in the city, from the big stage to the private box. What mattered to me was that the mood is exuberant and that truly everyone gets to take the mic, no matter how well the notes land. Whether with friends or on your own, the evening is guaranteed to be unforgettable here.
