Die Gestalterei

When frost covers the outdoors, sewing happens in Prenzlauer Berg. Die Gestalterei on Christburgerstraße is Berlin's coziest destination for creative children's sewing courses during the holidays – for ages 6 and up, no prior knowledge required, with real projects to take home.
Die Gestalterei
During the winter holidays, Die Gestalterei in Prenzlauer Berg opens its studio for children aged 6 and up who want to learn how to sew during their free days. You can register individually or for several days on various dates during the holiday week and realize your first projects on your own sewing machine.
Absolute beginners first learn how to safely use the sewing machine and sew their first own cushion or a small bag. Those who already have experience can tackle more ambitious projects – from a warm winter hat to a colorful pouch to small self-sewn gifts.
Sewing machines, fabrics, and accessories are provided by the studio; additional material is charged based on consumption. A single session costs around 34 Euros for about three hours, and you are welcome to bring your own sewing machines.
In addition to the holiday program, Die Gestalterei also offers sewing courses for children and adults on weekends – a reason why many families from Prenzlauer Berg keep coming back to sew together.
