Advent, Advent – December 2018 is also a festive time at the German Museum of Technology Berlin. The museum has put together an extensive Advent program for children. In jewelry production, you can paint tin Christmas decorations on December 8th and 9th. In textile technology, the knitting machine can be started on all Saturdays in December to create colorful patterns and motifs.

From Tuesday to Friday, science-interested children and young people can watch exciting experimental demonstrations with liquid nitrogen at the Science Center Spectrum! These are cool experiments at -196° Celsius. In the forge in the museum park, on the other hand, coals and iron glow on Sundays in December when a workpiece is created there.

On Sunday, December 9th, Santa Claus himself will even come to the museum. With a little luck, young and old visitors can meet him during his museum tour. First, he will be touring the museum with his sack full of sweets and then be a guest at the Science Center.

In addition, on Saturdays in December, the Technology Museum again offers exciting technical tours on locomotives, ships, and airplanes, and on Sundays the popular family tours, where you can get to know unusual flying machines, climb aboard a real steamship, and learn exactly how a locomotive works. The TechLabs are popular with little tech-freaks, where little nerds, for example, build their own toothbrush robots or control computers with crazy things like playdough.

A highlight during Advent will also be the special train ride on December 8th. The Technology Museum invites you to a historic express steam locomotive. On the second Advent Saturday, a historic steam train from Westfalenbahn will be visiting. Experience it live at the museum station, the planned arrival is at 12:15, and the journey back to Münster departs at 17:15.
