Midtown Grill at Potsdamer Platz in Mitte brings New York steakhouse tradition to Berlin, without losing its Berliner character. After a comprehensive renovation in autumn 2025, the restaurant appears fresher and more confident than ever. Regional origin, artisanal grilling, and an atmosphere that attracts both hotel guests and Berliners.
What’s on the table: Steaks of German Origin
The kitchen places great emphasis on the origin of the ingredients: Angus cattle from Brandenburg, German Black Pied from Northern Germany, and Wagyu from Bavaria are on the menu. What we found particularly interesting: When the season allows, the steak even comes from a farm just 25 kilometers away. You can truly taste the difference.
Those who appreciate exceptional meat quality should definitely visit the in-house “butchery”: At the counter, you choose your cut and portion size according to your own taste, directly with the service team or in person at the butchery counter. Technically, the X-Oven is the real star: a charcoal oven with drawers that can cook various dishes simultaneously and gives steaks an intense smoky flavor.
Classics like tartare, tender Filet Mignon, or the NY Cheesecake are just as exciting as new additions to the menu, including a raw bar with oysters and char caviar from Müritz. Alongside meat dishes, there are also vegetarian options like a pistachio risotto. So, those who don’t eat meat will also find a well-considered option here.
The Restaurant: History and Location
The Midtown Grill steakhouse in the Berlin Marriott Hotel at Potsdamer Platz has presented itself with a new look and concept after extensive renovations and is known for steaks prepared in an open show kitchen. The redesign comes from Forsite Creative Europe in collaboration with Marriott International’s Global Design Team and is based on the Bauhaus style with clear lines and a mix of concrete, wood, metal, and marble. The restaurant is located directly at Potsdamer Platz, on the ground floor of the Berlin Marriott Hotel at Ebertstraße 3, just a few minutes’ walk from the S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations, and thus in the immediate vicinity of the Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten, and the Kulturforum.
