Moroccan-Egyptian specialties with an atmosphere from 1001 Arabian Nights!

Baraka at Lausitzer Platz in Kreuzberg offers Moroccan-Egyptian specialties. Translated, Baraka means “breath of life” or “blessing power”. As soon as you enter the outwardly inconspicuous shop, you feel directly transported into an oriental world. The interior exudes the ambiance of “1001 Arabian Nights”. Inside, the restaurant is quite large and divided into several rooms. Due to the numerous niches and separated seating areas, it still feels cozy. Traditionally, one dines on cushions at low tables on a “barefoot platform”. Larger groups can also eat well here and have plenty of space. The heart of Baraka is the kitchen, which can be viewed from both outside and the guest rooms.

The menu features classics of North African cuisine such as Babaganoush or couscous and hummus dishes. Recommended is the veal baked in a tagine with sesame, almonds, prunes, and homemade bread. All dishes are prepared according to traditional recipes; the meat is halal (permitted by Islamic law). Fortunately, you don’t have to choose between all the delicacies at Baraka, as tasting portions of all dishes are served on large specialty platters. Sweet Moroccan tea is served in beautiful silver carafes.

Baraka’s premises can be rented for events such as buffets for up to 60 people and private parties of up to 80 people.
