Danziger Straße 24 is just a few steps away from the Kulturbrauerei, in one of the city’s liveliest entertainment districts. Accordingly, the clientele at Falafel Daye is diverse, and during peak hours, you may have to wait for a table. The place is not just a stand-up snack bar: there are tables inside, and in good weather, outdoor seating on the sidewalk is added, from which you can observe the traffic on Danziger Straße. Payment can be made with EC card, Visa, and Mastercard, which is not common in this price range and distinguishes the shop from several other falafel establishments in the city. If you don’t want to eat on-site, you can take the food with you. The shop is located on a busy corner, yet you sit surprisingly sheltered outside. For the Kulturbrauerei and the surrounding bars, Falafel Daye is therefore the obvious stop before or after. The nearest subway station is Eberswalder Straße with the U2, where tram lines M1, M10, and 12 also stop.

Falafel Wrap, Gim Gim Plate, and Freshly Pressed Juices

The system at Falafel Daye is quickly explained yet unusual: Almost every dish is available either as a wrap in flatbread or as a plate, and each combination has its own name. Around fifteen of them are on the menu, including Silan, Helin, Miro, Bavko, Berzan, and Evin. The falafel wrap costs 6.50 Euros, the falafel plate with tabbouleh costs 11.00 Euros and is explicitly marked as vegan. The falafel balls themselves have a subtle cinnamon note, complemented by sesame sauce. If you want to try everything at once, order the Gim Gim Plate, which combines tabbouleh, couscous, fried vegetables, falafel, shawarma, sucuk, and halloumi. Among others, the Helin Plate, the Evin Plate, and the Miro Wrap are marked as vegetarian. Also noteworthy is the beverage menu with freshly squeezed juices from carrot, orange, apple, mango, and guava, along with ayran, beer, and baklava. The wraps are suitable for take-away, while the plates are better for a longer stop.
