Located at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain, Silo Coffee has been bringing Australian coffee culture to Berlin since 2013. Specialty coffee from their own Fjord Roastery, a seasonal brunch menu, and minimalist interior make the café the top destination for coffee lovers throughout Berlin.

Silo Coffee: Where Specialty Coffee is Taken Seriously

Founded in 2013 by Australian restaurateur Morgan Love, Silo Coffee represents a piece of Australian brunch culture right in the heart of Friedrichshain. More than nostalgia is behind it: the Australian founders brought their expertise from Melbourne, the coffee capital of the world, directly to Berlin. You’ll notice it at the very latest with your first sip. Silo is the proud home of Fjord Coffee Roasters, which they founded in 2015 together with Field Coffee. Together, they source the finest specialty-grade coffees from around the world, ethically sourced and going beyond fair trade standards. The various espresso roasts from Guatemala, Ethiopia, Brazil, or Kenya are also available packaged for takeaway.

Brunch, Atmosphere, and the Best Flat White in Friedrichshain

Outside, there are wooden tables with benches; inside, the café maintains a minimalist design, with one of the natural stone walls decorated with a hanging bicycle. Wall-mounted wooden structures invite guests to sit on stools, or one can find a quiet window seat. If you’re coming for breakfast, however, you should allow some time. It’s almost always full, so it’s advisable to arrive early. The café is just a few steps from Boxhagener Platz. When it comes to food, Silo Coffee makes no compromises: The seasonal menu offers healthy and vegan options alongside classic dishes like Bacon and Eggs, all made from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Among the most popular orders are the Silo Breakfast with eggs, avocado, and artisanal bread, as well as the Beef Brisket Sandwich, praised for its intense flavor. In short: Silo Coffee is no longer a secret tip in Berlin, but a benchmark.
