In Neukölln's Bohemian Village, this shop consistently builds its burgers plant-based, either around a flat-pressed smash patty or Beyond Meat. Additionally, there's a complete Chick'N line made from breaded plant protein, loaded fries with mustard-cheese sauce, and two desserts, all of which are also free of animal ingredients.

A Burger Joint Without a Gram of Meat

In Neukölln’s Bohemian Village, there’s a burger joint where not a single gram of meat is processed, and you wouldn’t know it from the menu. Everything is plant-based, using two types of patties: a flat-pressed smash patty and Beyond Meat. The Smashed Veggd is the entry-level option, The Classy is the slightly more opulent variant, and the Beyond Chilli Cheese is for guests looking for spice and cheese sauce. Additionally, there’s a complete Chick’N line with breaded pieces of plant protein, one mild and one spicy, along with matching nuggets. Side dishes include onion rings, their house fries, and loaded fries with a mustard-cheese sauce. To finish, there are two desserts on the menu, a peanut and caramel variant and a brownie, both also free of animal ingredients. If you usually browse menus and ask to swap ingredients, here you can just order. All sauces are also plant-based, from mayo to dip.

Relaxed for Mixed Groups

The establishment itself concisely states its mission: better for guests, better for the planet, better for animals. Practically, this means no one at the table needs to ask questions because everything is plant-based anyway, and dairy products are completely excluded, from cheese sauce to milkshakes. For mixed groups, this is more relaxed than it sounds, as the menu reads like that of a regular burger joint, not a program of renunciation. Price-wise, a burger costs about twelve to fourteen euros, with side dishes extra. The single shop has now grown into four locations in Berlin, spread across Neukölln, Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, and Schöneberg, but the Richardstraße location remains the quietest of them all, as the Bohemian Village is more of a residential area than an an entertainment district. Orders are placed at the counter, and delivery is also available. There are seats in the small dining area, but many take their food home or to the nearest park. Pre-ordering is also possible.
