Around 2,700 concrete stelae stand on 19,000 square meters; beneath them, on 800 square meters, lies the Place of Information with the Rooms of Dimensions, Families, Names, and Places. The easternmost of the three barbecue areas on Tempelhofer Feld is located in Neukölln, near the Oderstraße entrance, approximately two kilometers from the area at Tempelhofer Damm. Your own grill with a minimum foot height of 25 centimeters is mandatory; gas grills are forbidden on the entire field. For barbecuing in the park, this is the shortest route from the Schillerkiez.

Beneath the field of stelae of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe lies the "Place of Information", an underground exhibition covering approximately 800 square meters. It tells the stories of people, families, and places of persecution, and admission is free.

In the heart of Friedrichshain, the "Dragonland" playground awaits with an oversized wooden dragon that invites climbing, sliding, and balancing. An adventure world has been created here on approximately 1,470 m², where the dragon motif consistently runs through all play equipment.

Located in the heart of Spandau, between Askanierring and Hohenzollernring, lies one of the district's most versatile playgrounds. Climbing, kicking, sliding, chilling: The playground at Falkenhagener Tor offers children of all ages true freedom to play and explore.

Foundation stone 1884, proclamation of the Republic 1918, fire 1933, rebuilt by Norman Foster until 1999: hardly any building tells German history as densely as the Reichstag Building. In the dome, 360 mirrors direct daylight into the plenary hall. For school classes in Berlin, lectures, dome visits and the simulation game are free but need registration.

In Berlin's Neukölln district, a 6,000 square meter playground awaits, evoking childhood memories: "Pippi's World" on Theodor-Loos-Weg takes little adventurers into the world of Pippi Longstocking, including Villa Villekulla, Taka-Tuka-Land, and water fun.

Located by Bürgerpark in Pankow, Pinke Panke Children's Farm is Berlin's most charming proof that rural life and city living are not a contradiction. Over 70 animals, workshops, campfires, and a vegetable garden make this educationally supervised playground a nature-oriented meeting point for children and families, which is also freely accessible.

In Wedding, on the so-called Green Triangle near Leopoldplatz, lies one of Berlin's most accessible children's farms. The Kinderbunter Bauernhof combines pedagogically supervised animal care with gardening, crafts, and genuine community, all free of charge, open, and cross-generational.

From 1933 to 1945 the Gestapo, the SS leadership and the Reich Security Main Office sat on this site at Niederkirchnerstrasse. Today there are excavated cellars, a site tour with fifteen stations and around 200 metres of the Berlin Wall. Admission and guided tours are free for school classes. In Prenzlauer Berg, directly on the former Berlin Wall strip, lies one of Berlin's oldest children's farms: The Moritzhof combines animal care, ancient crafts, and true community on a site that has been making history since 1990. Free, open, and no registration required.

The Berlin Environmental Calendar by the Berlin Nature Conservation Foundation collects daily updated events related to nature and environment, from herb walks to bat observations. Usage is free, and many of the offers are also free of charge.

Since the barbecue area in Preußenpark was closed in 2024, Rudolf-Mosse-Platz in Schmargendorf is the only public barbecue area in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The small green space is about a ten-minute walk from Heidelberger Platz and can be used free of charge all year round. In addition to the barbecue area, there is a sunbathing lawn, a ping-pong table, and a mini-soccer field.

In the backyard of an old factory in Moabit, between brick walls and train tracks, the Kulturfabrik Moabit's Open-Air Cinema shows films every summer that are rarely seen on a screen in Berlin. Admission is free, the atmosphere unique.

The German Museum of Technology at Gleisdreieck in Kreuzberg showcases steam locomotives, airplanes, ships, and historical computers on the grounds of the former Anhalter freight station. Admission is free for those under 18, and for everyone on Fridays from 13:00.

Blücherplatz is the third designated barbecue area in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg: a meadow between Waterloo-Ufer and Zossener Straße, next to the America Memorial Library and a few steps from Hallesches Tor. Free, no registration required, gas grills allowed. If you're looking for a free spot to barbecue in the park, this is your best bet.

Berlin's oldest children's farm is located in Kreuzberg, on a former rubble plot by the Berlin Wall. Since 1981, the children's farm at Mauerplatz has offered ponies, goats, donkeys, and geese, along with a vegetable garden, nature trail, and a community house made of clay. And all of it is free of charge.

Located in the historic village center of Alt-Marzahn, right next to the post mill, you'll find Berlin's most authentic children's farm. Tierhof Marzahn is a over 300-year-old, listed three-sided farm where agriculture is still practiced as it was at the beginning of the 20th century.

Just a few steps from Klosterstraße subway station stand the walls of a 13th-century monastery church. The ruin of the Franciscan Monastery Church is one of Berlin's oldest buildings and today serves as an open-air exhibition space for contemporary art, with free admission.

In Charlottenburg's Klausenerplatz quarter, where one would typically expect Wilhelminian-era buildings and coffee houses, a real children's farm is hidden on Danckelmannstraße. The Charlottenburg Goat Farm is the result of civic engagement: residents saved a derelict plot from new development and transformed it into a green community oasis with animals, learning gardens, and a playground.

In the heart of Charlottenburg, near Savignyplatz, a piece of the city transforms into a medieval adventure village. The "Sherwood Forest" playground on Knesebeckstraße focuses on fantasy over functionality, featuring Robin Hood, fairy tale figures, and an unparalleled climbing castle.
