The Christmas market at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in City West now shines for the 40th time with artistic lighting that creates a magical atmosphere of color and light. The breathtaking carpet of light, over 400 meters long, enchants the senses day and night and offers a unique sight. Another eye-catcher is the traditional Christmas tree, which rises right next to the memorial church. Decorated with up to 8,000 Christmas baubles that shine in red and gold, it attracts everyone’s attention. In combination with the shining lights and festive music, the Christmas magic comes to life and the anticipation of the festive days increases.
The Christmas market has even more to offer: A pop-up restaurant called the “Hirschstube”, run by the Roden showman family, invites visitors to warm up and enjoy hot food in a cozy atmosphere. Here, guests can expect a wide range of menus, from classic Christmas roasts to tender ribs and crispy Berlin currywurst. There is also an exquisite selection of winter wines and champagne. The Christmas-lit mulled wine gardens also offer heated and sheltered seating and standing areas.
In addition, AG City is once again supporting a good cause this year and is supporting the DRK warmth bus by selling hot drinks. On December 1, 2023, visitors will have the opportunity to support the association by purchasing mulled wine, punch or hot chocolate on Breitscheidplatz from 1 pm to 7 pm.
