Loveco Kreuzberg in Gräfekiez: vegan shoes and fashion across 130 square meters

Loveco Kreuzberg is located on Körtestraße in the Gräfekiez, about 240 meters from the Südstern subway station and thus in one of Kreuzberg’s quieter corners. At 130 square meters, the store is the largest of the company’s outlets and also the newest: it opened in October 2022. Behind Loveco is Christina Wille, who founded the company in 2014 with an initial store in Friedrichshain. Today, around 25 people work for the company, and two Berlin locations remain. This one is responsible for shoes: Körtestraße is the only store to carry vegan shoes, after the former pure shoe store on Manteuffelstraße was integrated into the product range of the other stores. Everything here is consistently free of animal materials, not as a sideline, but as a fundamental principle of the entire company. Over 70 labels are on the shelves, significantly more than at the second location. Körtestraße itself is a residential street with old buildings and trees; Hasenheide Park begins just around the corner.

Veja, NAE, and Novesta alongside GOTS and Fair Wear seals

For shoes, the selection ranges from sneakers to boots, including brands like Veja, NAE, Novesta, Grand Step Shoes, Flamingos’ Life, Genesis, Zouri, and ekn footwear. Prices are in the mid-range: a Hiking Bootie from Grand Step Shoes costs 109 Euros, a boot from NAE 145 Euros. Many items carry recognized seals such as GOTS, the Fair Wear Foundation, Fairtrade, or the Global Recycled Standard, and some shoe brands are additionally PETA-Approved Vegan certified. Loveco offers advice without sales pressure, which is regularly cited in feedback as the real difference compared to larger stores. Online orders can be picked up here free of charge, and returns can also be dropped off directly at the store, with a 30-day period. The store is barrier-free.
