Olaf Makosch has been selling tea in Friedrichshain since 1994, initially on Mainzer Straße, and today on Frankfurter Allee, diagonally opposite the Bürgeramt (Citizens’ Office). The aroma greets you at the door, emanating from over 650 loose varieties: black tea, green tea, white tea, oolong, rarities, plus herbal and fruit blends. After over 30 years in the business, they know here which tea suits which question, and the advice is accordingly precise.
Alongside the tea, porcelain, cards, sweets, and jams are on the shelves, plus the usual accessories from filters to tea caddies, glasses, and teapots. A small detail that sticks: every order includes a free sample packet.
Specialty Shop Without a Seating Area
Teekränzchen is deliberately not a café. There are no seating options and no menu; the focus is entirely on selection and advice. Those who have chosen a tea take it home and prepare it there.
The online shop comprises around 760 items and can be combined with in-store pickup. Orders receive a three percent discount, and from 30 Euros, the shop delivers within Germany free of charge, usually within one to three days.
