Marc O’Polo Outlet at Kaiserdamm: two floors of fashion from previous collections
The Marc O’Polo Outlet is located at Kaiserdamm 7 in Charlottenburg, approximately 415 meters from the Sophie-Charlotte-Platz subway station and about 660 meters from Kaiserdamm station (U2 and Ringbahn). Across two floors, you’ll find women’s and men’s fashion, shoes, and accessories from past collections, including the denim line and the brand’s classic knitwear and jersey items. The space is manageable compared to an outlet center, but it’s located in City West and can be easily combined with shopping around Kurfürstendamm. Since only discontinued collections end up here, it’s especially worth looking at transitional jackets, shirts, and knitwear, whose cuts remain similar at Marc O’Polo for years. Changing rooms are available, and it rarely gets crowded. Bus 309 stops at Zillestraße, approximately 470 meters away, and line M49 at Kuno-Fischer-Straße, about 480 meters away, so the store can also be reached without the subway.
From Stockholm to Upper Bavaria: the brand since 1967
Marc O’Polo was founded in the summer of 1967 in Stockholm by Swedes Rolf Lind and Göte Huss together with American Jerry O. Sheets. The founding idea was unusual for its time: instead of the synthetic fibers common back then, only natural materials were to be processed, and this principle continues to shape the collections today. In 1997, Werner Böck acquired the majority stake in the company and relocated the headquarters from Sweden to Stephanskirchen in Upper Bavaria, making the brand a German company ever since. Today, approximately 2,300 people from more than 40 nations work there, and products are sold in 46 countries through about 2,200 own stores and partner shops. Eight collections are released per year, and the merchandise in the Marc O’Polo Outlet changes regularly accordingly. Those familiar with the brand from full-price stores will find the same lines here, just one to two seasons later. The collections continue to follow the founders’ principle of using as much cotton, linen, and wool as possible instead of synthetics.
