For a breakfast in the green, the setting comes first for me, but the plate must not be forgotten over it. I looked at whether the view really goes into the greenery or only onto the parking lot, whether the ingredients are fresh and the menu offers variety. Just as important are shady spots for hot days and an atmosphere in which you can let the morning wind down without any rush.
The Seestar of Britz is located in the Britzer Garten and serves breakfast on slightly elevated terraces directly over the lake. The building itself is an earth-mound structure by architect Engelbert Kremser, completed in 1985 for the Federal Garden Show. For breakfast in the green, this means: first through the park, then scrambled eggs with a view of the water.
Hofcafé Berlin and Feine Kost bei Mutter Fourage is located on a over one hundred year old farm in Wannsee, between a nursery, florist, and gallery. Breakfast is served outdoors in the courtyard or in the heated Winterpalais. The menu ranges from a croissant for 4.50 Euros to a large salmon platter. For breakfast in the countryside, this is the most rural address in the city.
Ormos by Milchhäuschen is located on Parkstraße directly on the shore of Lake Weißer See, where the old Milchhäuschen already served day-trippers in the 18th century. It is run by two restaurateurs with Greek roots, so shakshuka, fava, and bowls are on the breakfast menu. For breakfast in nature, this means: terrace by the water, followed by a walk around the lake.
Kaffeehaus Zeltinger is located at Zeltinger Platz in the garden city of Frohnau and features a summer garden and a winter garden. The lodge is situated in the preserved ice cream kiosk of the former Herrmann confectionery, offering views of the Casino Tower. One particularly practical aspect for breakfast in the green is that it is served until late afternoon, even for late risers.
The Restaurant & Beer Garden Schoenbrunn is located in Volkspark Friedrichshain directly by the Swan Pond, and its sun terrace seats about one hundred guests. The pavilion originated from a competition for the X. World Festival in 1973 and initially housed a small library. For breakfast in the green surroundings, pancakes and Avocado Benedict are served here under old trees.

Tomasa in Villa Kreuzberg utilizes the gardener's house, built by Hermann Blankenstein and Fritz Haack in 1892 during the construction of Viktoriapark. To this day, the pumps for the Kreuzberg waterfall run in the cellar. Breakfast is served in the large inner courtyard next to the petting zoo, and a covered pergola protects from rain. Breakfast amidst greenery here includes the park right next door.
The Pianocafé am Lietzensee is located on Neue Kantstraße at the edge of Lietzenseepark, just a few meters from the S-Bahn Messe Nord/ICC station.
