Beautiful colors, exciting patterns and high-quality fabrics made from sustainable organic cotton are the main features of the Berlin eco-label Chapati. In the flagship store at the Zossener Straße in Berlin-Kreuzberg it soon becomes clear that the label of the Iranian designer Mohammadi stands out from other fashion manufacturers. Here, individualists find an alternative to the grey mainstream look.

The interior of the shops thrills its customers with stunning a design. The shelves are made of elements of old doors; in between there are exciting light constructions of copper on the ceilings, which dip the shop into a warm, pleasant light. When you enter the flagship store at Zossener Straße, you feel like you have just entered another world. Everything looks angled, but still bright and friendly.

The fashion collections for women, men and children are particularly impressive with their unusual color and pattern combinations, but also less daring people will find simpler clothes here or quickly realize that unusual pieces can be combined perfectly with other casual items from the wardrobe. Younger audiences are also addressed, as the Click & Go skirts and fringes are ideal for the next festival visit.

The name of the fashion label is Indian and means “bread”. The idea is to earning money to buy bread and food to live and thereby gaining independence and independence. Designer Mohammadi, with his collections from the heart of Berlin, not only meets the current zeitgeist, but also focusses on the great importance of Fair-trade production. For this reason, Chapati Design employs a factory with around 150 employees in India, in which all employees receive a fixed salary and a 13th monthly salary to stop work under time pressure. Once a year, Mohammadi himself travels to India for one month to work on the ground. He also invites his factory manager once a year to Germany for several weeks to include him in the sales process. In addition to fair working conditions, the label also places emphasis on organic cotton.
