Hase in the Boxhagener Kiez is a Friedrichshain neighborhood pub with vinyl records as bar stool seats, lamps made from Jack Daniel's bottles, and a foosball table between the sofas. Musically, it's all about Ska, Psychobilly, and Rockabilly, and smoking is allowed. The pub itself includes 'Tatort' in its program, alongside pub quizzes and football.

Hase: Neighborhood Pub in Boxhagener Kiez

Hase is located on Gabriel-Max-Straße in the heart of the Boxhagener Kiez, less than two minutes from the Simplonstraße tram stop. From the outside, it’s barely noticeable, but inside, it quickly becomes clear what it’s all about: the bar stools have vinyl records as seats, more records hang on the walls, the lamps are made from Jack Daniel’s bottles, and a miniature drum kit hangs from the ceiling. In addition, there are well-worn sofas and a foosball table.

Musically, the place moves between Ska, Psychobilly, and Rock n Roll, which sets the tone for the evening. Smoking is allowed, and entry is restricted to adults. Prices remain low; an evening here can be enjoyed for single-digit amounts.

Between Pub Quiz and Sunday Crime Show

Hase is one of those Friedrichshain pubs that include ‘Tatort’ in their program. It is broadcast in the guest room, where the sofas and the bar counter naturally bring the audience together. Because the bar is small, the crime show evening remains a neighborhood affair and not a mass event.

In addition, there’s its own pub quiz, for which regular teams have formed over the years. On game days, the venue also functions as a sports bar with the usual broadcasts, and the home teams supported are Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Union Berlin. The best way to find out what’s next is directly at the bar.
