Deep beneath the Delphi Filmpalast on Kantstraße in Charlottenburg lies one of Berlin's oldest and most renowned jazz clubs. Since 1975, Quasimodo has been an institution in the live music scene, entertaining its basement audience with jazz, soul, funk, and much more.

Quasimodo: A Jazz Cellar with History

The legendary club between the Delphi Filmpalast and the Theater des Westens in Charlottenburg is one of Berlin’s oldest live music venues. Guests flock to the spacious jazz cellar to experience concerts in dim light and a cozy atmosphere.

Quasimodo is charmingly located beneath the Delphi Filmpalast. The illuminated bar’s facade alone creates an almost cinematic mood. Those who descend the stone steps leave the outside world behind. An unannounced performance by Prince in 1987, directly after a concert in the Deutschlandhalle, wrote a special chapter in music history. Since then, the club has lost none of its appeal.

Live Music in Berlin: More than just Jazz

While the focus is on traditional jazz music, Quasimodo also offers a platform for musicians from the funk, soul, Latin, blues, and rock genres. The program features renowned international artists as well as musicians from the local Berlin and national scene.

The club’s jam sessions are particularly popular. Every Wednesday, Berlin musicians improvise together with international guests. On warm summer evenings, you don’t even have to go down to the cellar: there’s live music on the terrace of the Quasimodo Bar. The bar, decorated in elegant gold, brown, and bronze, is also the perfect place for cocktails before and after concerts. The concerts, which take place several times a week, usually start at 22:00.
