Designer Fashion from Our Own Atelier in Wilmersdorf

MATSOUR’I is located on Brandenburgische Straße in Wilmersdorf, a few steps from the Konstanzer Straße subway station, and is not a shop you stumble into by chance. The showroom opens exclusively by appointment, and consultations are held by the designer herself. Behind the label is Ilona Matsour, who founded it in 2016 after studying computer science and working for fashion magazines and online fashion platforms. Designed and sewn in Germany, in small series and limited numbers, so that the same dress rarely appears twice at the same event. The range extends from floor-length evening gowns to cocktail and ball gowns to wedding dresses, mother-of-the-bride dresses, and girls’ dresses, plus two-piece outfits and designer coats. The fabrics are chosen accordingly: silk, lace, and linen instead of off-the-rack synthetics. Quality is controlled at every production phase, and according to the label, a portion of the proceeds goes to charities. Those who come with a clear vision can refine it during the consultation.

Customization and Prices at MATSOUR’I

What’s special about this house is that many models can be custom-made. Not only the size, but also the sleeve length, the length of the dress, and the neck and back cut-outs can be adjusted. The process consists of three steps: first, a model is selected, then measurements are taken, either at home with an online measuring tool or directly during the consultation appointment in the showroom, and then the dress goes into production.
