Hurricane Factory

If you’ve always wanted to fly without immediately jumping out of a plane with a parachute, the Hurricane Factory on the outskirts of Berlin is the right place for you. In the wind tunnel, first-time flyers and experienced body flyers alike experience the ultimate feeling of freefall. The flight cylinder is a 5.20 m x 15 m facility where six large fans generate a constant airflow of up to 280 km/h in the wind tunnel. The fast wind then enables free flying, which can be controlled by your own body.

The wind tunnel can be used by almost anyone. A minimum age of 5 years and a maximum body weight of 120 kg are the most important requirements, as a flight in the wind tunnel is a sporting yet safe experience. Both first-time flyers and sport flyers – professionals who usually have experience in skydiving – will be thrilled by the facility. Three minutes of flight time (1.5 minutes each) may sound short at first, but anyone who has been in a wind tunnel will know that this time feels much longer because you have to concentrate completely on your own body, and the adrenaline level further challenges the body. The excitement before entering the wind tunnel for the first time is particularly great. Once the first flight is over, most people can hardly wait for the second flight.

The flight experience itself naturally includes an introduction with flight position training, flight equipment, and supervision by an experienced instructor. The flight cylinder in the Hurricane Factory is fully glazed, making it visible from every angle in the spectator area as well as from the bistro. So, if you’re not flying, you can watch your friends and relatives and cheer them on from the stands. The size of the flight tunnel also allows for the exclusive Hurricane DUO package, where two people fly simultaneously (max. weight difference of 20 kg).

Located right on the edge of Berlin-Schönefeld Airport (SXF) and the new BER airport, the Hurricane Factory is just a stone’s throw from the outskirts of Berlin. In addition to the public flight and spectator area, there are training rooms, video stations, and changing rooms with showers for sport flyers on separate floors, as well as facilities for seminars, workshops, or company parties with the best view of the glazed flight cylinder.
