The Scharmützelbob in Bad Saarow is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Brandenburg for families with children. Whether it’s snowing or the sun is shining, with the Scharmützelbob near Bad Saarow in the southeastern Berlin surroundings, you can whiz downhill all year round. This makes it one of the few excursion destinations in Brandenburg that truly operate throughout the year.

The toboggan run, the so-called „Alpine Coaster”, is unique in all of Berlin and Brandenburg. A lift takes you to the airy heights of the Rauener Mountains, from where you toboggan down into the valley through numerous curves and jumps. The sleds reach a top speed of 40 km/h. What we found particularly nice: After the first descent, the fun starts all over again, meaning you go up and down twice without getting off. The highlight of the track is the 35-meter-long roundabout.

In addition, there is much more for the little ones to discover than just the toboggan run. An indoor playground with many experiences awaits, as well as gold panning like in the Wild West, a climbing tower, a slide, and the excavator Luca. Most recently, a new bumper car arena was even added to the hall. This way, a family day at one of Brandenburg’s most beautiful excursion destinations can be wonderfully planned: first the big toboggan run for the adrenaline kicks, then the duel arena for the little ones, and finally a meal at Bistro BobInn. Children aged 3 and up are allowed to ride the toboggan run.

Prices and Directions

A single ride on the summer toboggan run costs 3.50 Euros for adults and 2.50 Euros for children between 3 and 14 years old. Those who want to toboggan multiple times can opt for a day ticket: adults pay 40 Euros, children 30 Euros. In addition, daily admission to the Duel Arena (indoor playground) costs 5 Euros per person, and children pay 7.50 Euros.

Location: The travel distance from Berlin to Bad Saarow is approximately 76 kilometers, and the travel time is about one hour. Just under one kilometer from the A12 Fürstenwalde West exit towards Bad Saarow, there are free parking spaces directly at the toboggan run. This makes the Scharmützelbob one of the excursion destinations in Brandenburg that can be reached quickly and easily from Berlin.
